To Be Or Not To Be.....Brunette or Blonde?
I think these photos speak for themselves....

I had to tie the scarf on to squash the hair down a bit as I'm not used to having so much hair.....I have just ordered another blonde one and then I will choose a different look for every day. I will post my 'Carribean Rasta look' tomorrow! I was slightly saddened by the fact that Jacob looked better in my wig than I did!

Jacob wanted his head shaved too.....!

It's Cold Up Here!
I can see what’s happening here…..I am going to get the blame for Lorna’s transformation from ‘demure, quiet, shy young lady’ to (in the words of Janet)…’a raver’! I know it! But like you rightly say Lorna – ‘it’s all in the dressing up daaaarrrrlllling!’ Give us a costume and we’ll rise to the occasion willingly…Speaking of rising to the occasion Lorna, let me know when Martin is away and I’ll send my companion set over – they are most obliging and very well versed at stoking one’s fire.
Well remembered Andi! HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY. Hey I’m loving the crystals on the head idea Maree – in fact I might even collect all the bells off the reindeers I have eaten over the past months and make a special little head dress…And hello Mr Bush – glad you are back on the case!
Yes, Andi, please send Monkey beanie. Or Zena, begin your collection of teatowels immediately. I am in need as I am now completely bald. I love the song, Positive Thinking Dresser-Upper, but I am indeed choking on some of life’s gristle today…..
This morning I woke to very few hairs remaining so Jonathan took great delight in shaving it all off. I am feeling a little better now it’s gone instead of convincing myself each day that I MAY just be the lucky one who manages to keep her hair. The general reaction in this house is varied. Jonathan says I have a ‘gorgeous head’. Jacob wants his head shaved too because it’s ‘cool’. Tessa screamed and ran away. And Ali just said ‘Oh dear’……I am experimenting with some hats and scarves and picked up my wig this morning (which is brunette with some nice red bits, and not even remotely blonde like the woman told me it would be) and have decided that I am lucky it is winter! We went out for a lovely walk in the woods and I wore a beanie, scarf and sunglasses and felt quite ‘normal’. Oh well, funny this walk on the wild side….you just begin to get comfortable with one stage and then you are thrown into the next….Certainly makes you realise how much I DID worry about my appearance (hair) before. I suppose it is now time to grow into my personality if you know what I mean….Better go and read more of Uri’s book. Positive thinking brings on a whole new meaning when you are bald…..see you later (not!), Deb x

Bad Hair Day
Oh you do make me laugh…..yes, Lisa you are right. There is an upside to every situation and borrowing Lorna’s cowboy hat just might be the answer here. I was not at all pleased to see that several more handfuls of hair came out again today. It will all be gone in a few days. I’m not just talking hair on my head either! Never realised how much I actually liked my hair until now. Never again will I complain about it when it does return!
I went to Body Balance at Hailsham on Tuesday (love the new release Maree but not sure about the splits at the end!). I have regained almost all strength in my left arm and shoulder and could even do the plank. I loved it so much I went again tonight but IT WAS FULLY BOOKED! So I went into the gym for an hour which was also very pleasant if not quite as relaxing. Took me back to those days at Lords Gym in Perth where i used to sweat away over three sets of shoulder presses, etc...Hope I feel comfortable going there when I have a teatowel on my head – sure I’ll get some looks but will have to think of an appropriate scouser retort if the stares get too much….like ‘Wot you lookin’ at you scuz bucket? (how’s that Jane?).
Tomorrow I am going to Worthing for a day workshop run by BreastCancerCare. It is a ‘Healthy Living Day’ so am looking forward to it. Starts with a Tai Chai class which might be a good chilled out start to the day. I will be listening carefully to the part about how chocolate reindeers are a crucial part of a healthy recovery….
See you later, x

You Are All Mad!
I am very reluctant to add another entry because I am so enjoying the parallel conversations and subtext from all of you!!! Who are these mystery people commenting on the weather, one wonders?
Hey Janet, I have my very own companion set and I don’t use it to stoke the wood fire! Remember that photo of my four minders……that’s a REAL companion set! But we could all chip in and supply Lorna with one, although I don’t think Martin will be too happy….Anyway it was great to see all of you on Sunday too – even if some of you were smelly and sweaty!

I am having an average day due to several reasons really. The first being………. yesterday there were quite a few loose hairs in my comb but I thought I would wait till today to double-check. Yes, it’s definitely disappearing at a rapid rate…..I got it cut short yesterday. I hope the remaining ones hang on a little longer…..

So after a slightly shocked start I was looking forward to being picked up by Deb and Vicki who decided to take me to the movies at Hawkhust. I was really looking forward to a bit of escapism and the theatre was lovely. But contrary to Uri’s advice of ‘keep laughing’, the movie was the saddest movie I have seen in a long time – PS I Love You. Don’t go to see it unless you have several boxes of tissues! Great movie though but I had to come home and tune in to the Disney Channel for some light relief.
Nothing else to report except that I have had a few emails from friends who are a little concerned at the thought of me training to be a ‘scouser’. It would seem even an ‘aussie’ is preferable to a ‘scouser’! See you later.
Deb x
